First change the keymap preference (Prefs/Input)

Change timezone

Next change time zone. Aros Vision fetches actual time from a timeserver when it starts. The correct time depends on your preference in prefs/local "timezone"

the dialog can be started from WBDock or Prefs/Screenmode

Change Theme

you can select OS3 or OS4 from desktop menu (system/theme/) or have more options in theme preferences (Prefs/Appearance). There you have more themes to select or you turn off themeing at all

Background

the background in magellan can be easily changed by this menu. In the other desktops it must be changed at different places

Aminet-Access

Access and download from Aminet is easy possible. There are two options. Access by Aweb (screenshot) or by FTP (RNOXfer). Both programs can be started from WBDock or from Contextmenu (desktop).

Change Desktops

There are three desktops included. You can easily change between the desktops by typing in "scalos", "magellan" and "wanderer" and then "reboot".

CD-ROM support

You can both play Music-CDs or access normal CD-ROMS when you have a CD-Drive

Packer support

Almost any common archive type is directly supported. All types of archives supported by xadmaster can be opened by doubleclick and browed and unpacked. Many other types offer unpack options in context menu. Directories also can be packed. Screenshot shows a archive downloaded from aminet and opened by doubleclick from ram:. Easiest way is to unpack content in ram: and start from there, Of course all common picture, animation or music formats are also supported. Supported means starting in most case after double-click, if not in most cases there are player or viewer defined in context menues.

Playing MODs

There are many trackers and players included. Many common music formats are supported, either by double-click or context-menu- In Screenshot a mod played by a shell-based player started from context-menu.

Accessing Help Files

Using commodity "handbook" with shortkey ALT+H you can easily access many documentations of the included documents

Watching youtube-Videos

With AmiTube you can download and watch youtube-videos. In most cases you have different options, either different video formats and resolutions and also just download the sound. If you select a option it is converted and downloaded.

Radio Streaming

Using TuneFinder and AmigaAMP to hear internet radio. You must start TuneFinder, then AmigaAMP as player is started too. You must make a selection in TuneFinder and then press "search". There is a small error still there so TuneFinder seems to be empty despite obviously there are entries. Click with mouse on empty positions makes entries visible. TuneFinder can be started from WBDock or desktop menu "audio2/TuneFinder".

MUIMapparium

from WBDock you can start MUIMapparium and search for maps

AmiFox

Also included (WBDock / Menu) is AmiFox. It renders pages before they are shown so you can even browse modern pages. Of course it needs longer and is not as comfortable as a real webbrowser.

FTP access

A very good FTP program is included. It makes it easy to access aminet without needing to go by browser.

Filemanager

Aros Vision includes a huge software collection. This includes several filemanager including Mtools (screenshot) and DOpus.

IMP3

IMP3 is now fully working and you can hear mods and chat with other amigans

ModExplorer

With ModExplorer (desktop menu tools/modexplorer) you can hear mods

Email

For Emails both SimpleMail and YAM are included

Shell extended

The System (C:) extended with many additional commands. Also added are additional handlers

WHDLoad

WHDLoad is preinstalled using AROS ROMS as replacement. Working for about 60%-70% of all slaves. It is still possible to use the own roms in it. These must be included in devs/kickstarts. Then all whdload slave work.

PDF-Viewer

Now you can also open and read Acrobat PDF-Files

Picture management

You can manage your pictures with collector (tools/graphic/collector). Please keep thumbnail preferences here.
